China B2C E-commerce Reaches New Heights in Q1 2014

The total value of retail E-commerce transactions in China was estimated to be 456.4 billion yuan in the first quarter of 2014, with the share of B2C transactions continuously expanding.

Specifically, B2C transaction value reached 182.1 billion yuan – growing by 44.6% compared with the same period of 2013 – and accounted for 39.9% of all retail E-commerce transactions by value. In comparison, C2C transactions totaled 274.3 billion yuan, representing a year-over-year growth rate of 18.3%, and the share of C2C in retail E-commerce dropped by 4.7 percentage points from one year earlier to 60.1%
