Real Estate Giant Wanda Acquires Controlling Stake in Payment Service 99Bill


Wanda Group has acquired a controlling stake in 99Bill, a digital payment solution provider, which will be integrated into all of Wanda’s businesses, including e-commerce. Wanda has targeted the e-commerce market since 2012.


Alibaba’s International Sales Up 1000% During “Year of Globalisation”


Alibaba calls 2014 “the year of globalisation”. Its Tmall International division has reportedly attracted 5,500 overseas brands since its launch back in February. Alibaba also claimed that its Tmall International Service levels the playing field for Chinese consumers as extra fees for overseas goods are eliminated.


China’s Luxury Consumers Buy For Quality While Americans Seek Bargains


Singapore-based research and consulting agency Agility Research interviewed luxury consumers and published a new survey that shows dramatic differences in purchase habits and brand preferences. Chinese luxury consumers are on average more tech-savvy than those of the US. While getting the best possible price is more important to Americans, quality of the products matters more to Chinese luxury shoppers.
